    i fully agree, i just think they are sweet to look at(you just have to love those tails). there really is not other car with a better geared tranny, more compact, or lighter than the 4th gen Hatch.....except for of course........the CRX smile!

    Heh, my EF has a better Tranny than a CRX tongue Actually, it's the same as the EF8's tranny smile

    But... The SiR Civics are faster then the SiR CRXs as they are a lot lighter - By about 200 kilos in my case, even though I have an electric sunroof which puts more weight back into the car smile

    Still, of all the Civics, my priority of choices is:

    EF (just over)
    The EB ('73-79)
    CTR ('99-'00)
    '99-'00 VTiR (Si)
    EG Si

    Once I've finished sorting the EF, I'm going to try and pick up a '78 EB 1200 and drop a City Turbo 2 motor into it. smile

    'ludes are nice but they are so damn slow - even those with the 2.2 VTEC motors. Just too fat for me smile

    ok gimme a sec to get the soap box off of ami...ok i got it wink

    But i gotta agree with ami, i mean for preludes yea they can be heavy, thats their thing, they have the 2.2 to back it up. However i think honda messed up the new Si by not putting it in a hatch, rather they used the 2-door coupe which is kinda heavy for a motor that was orginally developed for our cars!

    Also keep in mind that our Si's (civic/crx alike) were some of the fastest civic's made until the new Si came out (del sol excluded). Yea the 5th gen hatches had 125 hp but they still had the extra weight, which i think made them like .1 slower in the quater mile (like that matters really) But all of these kids driving EX coupes make me laugh. Our cars were rated at 16.4 stock? The EX started at like 16.8 and as the years went on it got heavier and slower!

    Ahh, feels good to come here and rant again eh ami? smile

    Yikes! You guys didn't get the B16A equipped 2000 Civic HB? I thought we got ripped when we didn't get it until '99. It was badged as a VTiR the same as the coupe over here. The coupe cost about $3000 more but the HB had a better level of finish (sorry - Honda Japan beats the US in build quality) and more options standard.

    Weight is always a limiting factor - while I've seen some awesome turbo'd import VTEC 'ludes, I'd take a light NA car over them every day smile

    The only B16's we have seen in the US are the DEL SOL "CRX to some of you guys not in the US,this was the first B16" then in 99 the Si Coupe only. Not hatches though frown

    I know exactly what your going through. Been through this recently. Just test drive them, and make yourself want one. Then Drive the shit out of yours and just tilt back the seat and stereo on........you'll feel better that you did drive them and that you more than likely would have missed the sweet ride you already had.

    Im gettin another car anyway more then likely, Im keepin my Prize and joy and addin to my collection a 90 Chevy S-10, im thinkin I can buy it then fix it then resell it for a nice profit. Im buyin it for 500 buxz But needs a Exhaust System, lowering job fixed, and a Tune Up - Cause until then it wont pass CA Smog. ill keep you guys posted
